Cara's 90th Anniversary event at the Royal Society - Presentation by 'Researchers at Risk' Fellow Iryna Starovoyt, Ukraine
In her presentation, Iryna Starovoyt, now a researcher at Oxford under the British Academy-led 'Researchers at Risk' programme, which was developed and operates in close collaboration with Cara, discusses the contribution made by refugee scholars to the definition of the crimes of 'genocide' and 'crimes against humanity'. She draws attention also to the damage done by Russia's invasion of Ukraine to the world's capacity to deal with the wider global crisis, before concluding that the best response of the scientist is to 'keep calm and carry on'.
